Leveraging Next-gen Leadership to Impact Recruitment, Retention and Sustainable Growth

As active community participants, vocal supporters of workforce development and previous winners of the AMBA Tooling Trailblazer of the Year Award, both Westminster Tool, Inc. (Plainfield, CT) and Wepco Plastics, Inc. (Middlefield, CT), represent the gold standard in manufacturing-related workforce development efforts.

AMBA members will have the chance to see these efforts in action at July's upcoming dual plant tour. At each company, emerging leaders from both facilities will highlight the ways in which operations can be impacted, improved and driven by the empowerment of next-generation leadership and the provision of executive-level guidance.

July 19, 12 - 6pm* EST | Wepco Plastics, Middlefield, CT

At Wepco Plastics, attendees will experience a hands-on plant tour, demonstrating how the company actively connects with and recruits from its community, run completely by the company’s emerging leadership. Wepco Plastics employees will establish how the company empowers up-and-coming leaders and works across departments to collaborate for success within the manufacturing environment. Attendees will travel by bus to and from the facility; a box lunch and travel to a light networking reception will be included.

July 20, 8am - 1pm EST | Westminster Tool, Plainfield, CT

The following day, Westminster Tool will take attendees through several areas of operation, including 5-axis machining, EDM robotic cell, 3D printing and more. Each station will highlight how culture has played a role in achieving operational efficiency and managing everyday tasks through an individual-based challenge/solution format. Each tour will end with facilitated crosstalk - sharing best practices and solutions to challenges. Attendees will travel by bus to this location, to Westminster Tool's second location at 51 Industrial Park Rd., Sterling, CT 06377 (where lunch will be provided) and will return to the hotel by 1pm EST.

Member cost: $229. Registration includes plant tour workshop at both facilities, reception following day one tour, lunch (boxed or buffet) on both days, transport from hotel to host facilities on both days and crosstalk after both tours.
